About the Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2000 with the intake of 45 and presently running with the intake of 180. During academic year 2019-20, the department started offering a new UG program in ECI with an intake of 60. The department also offers one PG course M.Tech (Digital Communications) with an intake of 25. The department was accredited by NBA for the first time in 2008 and subsequently got re-accredited in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The department is funded by DST-SERB with the amount of 41.36 lakhs on project titled “Design and Development of Printed Micro Strip Patch Antenna for LTE and GPS Applications”.

The Department has dedicated and dynamic faculty members all with PG degrees and 8 doctorates and they continuously strive to maintain the academic standards of the institute. The faculty has a zeal for research and it is reflected by their publications in various National and International Journals. The Department of ECE encourages the students to actively participate in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to enable the all-round development of the students. ECE Association is very active in organizing various technical events to enhance the students learning outside the classroom as well. Sumshodini is the technical fest being conducted by the students of ECE every year which enable the students to develop leadership and organizing skills. Many of the students of the department get placed on campus every year in reputed Industries like ADP, POWER WAVE, TCS, TECH-MAHINDRA, ACCENTURE, MAHINDRA – SATYAM, INFOSYS etc. in-addition the students also fare very well in other competitive exams like TOEFL, GRE, GATE etc and are pursuing their higher studies at premier institutes in India and abroad. The department also conducts regular faculty Development Programmes and STTP's for the development of teaching fraternity.
