Alumni Affairs & External Relations Profile

The Alumni Affairs & External Relations (AA&ER) Cell is established to cater to the needs of alumni with the following mission.

         • Serve as outward-facing window from the institute to the alumni.

         • Act as primary interface from institute to alumni at large.

         • Administer Distinguished Alumnus Award program, Silver Jubilee reunions.

Register graduating students into the alumni database:

         • Supports KITSWAA to enroll outgoing students into the database, maintain and grow database.

         • Provide database access on as-needed basis.

The cell facilitates student mentoring by alumni and promotes campus and departmental visits by alumni. The cell also organizes guest lectures and helps students in finding internships by linking them to almamater. Alumni interaction at the institute helps the students to disseminate and update their knowledge & technical / personal skills with latest information. Institute has a KITSW Alumni Association (KITSWAA) to link the old students with their alma mater and to help its students on campus and off campus placements. KITSWAA has been provided with an office room within the campus to carry out their activities and meetings. The Faculty In charge will be updating the alumni members time to time about the activities of KITS and seeks help from alumni in mobilizing funds, adoption of poor / economically backward students and any sort of support for the institutional development. The various ways that alumni can interact with the institution is through networking, feedback, advocacy, volunteerism may be facilitated through the alumni office, which also serves as the voice of its graduates. Alumni can play an active role in voluntary programs like mentoring students in their areas of expertise. They also play a significant role in contributing scholarships to deserving students, leveraging the alumni community can be a win-win for both the institution and the alumni.

The following are some of the reasons/benefits to have Alumni Association:

         • Serves as the Alumni Gateway to the Institution.

         • Networking with alumni.

         • Advocacy & volunteerism of graduates.

         • Alumni can play an active role in voluntary programs like mentoring students in their areas of expertise.

         • They also play a significant role in contributing scholarships to deserving students.

         • Assistance in Employability and extend maximum help to the institute in the placement of students in the best organizations.

         • Mentorship and Scholarships.

         • Leveraging the alumni community can be a win-win for both the institution and the alumni.

         • Support system.

         • Feedback from alumni.

         • Alumni as revenue contributors.

         • Link all the Alumni members with the Alma Mater.

         • Update Alumni members about the activities of KITS and the Alumni association with a quarterly news bulletin.

         • Knowing the genuine requirements of the Institute and extending help to achieve the same.

         • Adoption of poor and economically backward students.

         • Organizing the guest lecturers to disseminate and update the knowledge of the students with the latest information.

1.      The Alumni Association of KITSW has been formed in the year 2007 in order to fulfill the long felt need for a forum and the cherished
         desires of its alumni. It has been duly registered as a society (Regd. No. 292 of 2007) to activate its functioning

3.     To link all the Alumni members with the Alma Mater

4.     To update Alumni members about the activities of KITS and the Alumni association.

5.     As a member of Board of Studies, Alumni are guiding us in academic matters i.e., designing of curriculum and syllabus of courses.

6.     Supports KITSWAA to enroll outgoing students into the database, maintain and grow database.
