The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in the year 2000. The department is running one UG Programme in B.Tech (ECE) and one PG Programme with specialization in Digital Communication. The B.Tech Programme was started in the year 2000 with an intake of 40 students, subsequently the intake was increased to 60 in the year 2001 and to 90 in the year 2009 and in year 2011 the intake got enhanced to 120. The post graduate programme in M.Tech (Digital Communications) has an intake 25. The Department has state of the art laboratories such as Analog & Digital Simulation Lab, Microprocessor & Microcontroller Lab, Pulse Digital Circuits Lab, Analog Communication Lab, Digital Communication Lab, Microwave & Optical Communication Lab, Signal Processing Lab and are regularly upgraded to meet the current changes in Electronics and Communications. The Department hosts a very good library which is accessible to both students and staff. The syllabi of the courses are periodically updated to taking into fold the rapid changes in the field of Electronics & Communications.

The Department has dedicated and dynamic faculty members all with PG degrees and they continuously strive to maintain the academic standards of the institute. The faculty has a zeal for research and it is reflected by their publications in various National and International Journals.
