The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineering was established in the year 1981 in Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science (KITS), Warangal. Department offers B.Tech Programme in E&I Engg and Specialized M.Tech programme in VLSI & Embedded Systems under Kakatiya University, Warangal. The institute to its credit is first in the country to offer a B.Tech. program in Electronics & Instrumentation stream. The B.Tech program has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE, New Delhi.
The department is recognized as a Research center for Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering stream under Kakatiya University and offers state of the art research facilities to the Ph.D. scholars registered in the specified areas of Electronics, Communication, Instrumentation and Signal Processing.
The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering has a fine blend of renowned, experienced ,young, dynamic and committed personalities as faculty, involved in providing quality education at both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) levels. It has broad based UG & PG curricula. The syllabi of the courses are continuously updated and the laboratories are modernized to reflect the rapid changes in technology. The department has well equipped laboratories to cater the curriculum of UG and PG programmes. It is pertinent to mention here that AICTE, New Delhi has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 8.0 lakhs towards the Modernization of Measurements & Instrumentation Laboratory of the Department under Modernization and Removal of Obsolescence Scheme (MODROBS) in the year 2010.
